About WattDekho

The place to understand solar and EVs before you spend.

WattDekho is the place to find out what solar and electric vehicles really cost in India, before you sign anything.

A solar offer shows one price. What reaches your meter is often higher once grid fees, surcharges and banking charges are added, and those change from state to state. EV costs work the same way: the price tag is only part of the picture. We work those numbers out and show them in plain language.

What you’ll find here

How we keep the numbers right

We check each state commission’s orders and the energy news every morning. When a fee changes, we update the figure and the date it was checked, and tell our followers. Our methodology shows every formula and assumption.

How we’re funded

The calculators and guides are free. Some product links in our comparisons may earn us a commission when you buy. Those links are labelled, and they never change a calculator result, a figure or the order in which products appear.

WattDekho is for homeowners, business owners and finance teams weighing a solar or EV decision who want the real number first.

How we write

Independence

No solar company, developer or equipment brand can pay to change a calculator result, a state figure or what a guide says.

Sourcing

Specific figures link to a dated source: a tariff order, a court ruling, a government release or a named industry report. If sources disagree, the page says so.

Review

When a guide has been reviewed by an energy or regulatory specialist, their name and background appear on it.

Plain language, two languages

We write for the person paying the electricity bill, not for engineers. Every page is published in English and Hindi with the same figures.
